Under Gray, cool conditions the final racer for the All Star Racing Association was conducted at Lebanon Valley Dragway. A field of 32 combatants showed up for Race #6. Beginning with round 3, George Mirza’s 10.90 (10.89) from his D/SA ’71 Duster defeated Eric Merryfield’s 13.41 (13.46) break-out from his T/SA Gremlin. In a double breakout affair, Dean Ribeiro’s 10.67 (10.68) from his C/SA ’97 Camaro bettered Gregg Sutherland’s more flagrant 10.04 (10.06) from his ’66 Nova SS/GA machine. Mike Farrell’s 9.75 from his beautifull SS/HA ’71 Challenger would be victorious over Dave Casey’s A/S Corvette plagued by mechanical issues. Jeff Coyne’s 11.37 (11.34) from his I/S ’85 Camaro defeated Cory Menard’s 11.27 (11.25) effort from his ’65 SS/MA Malibu. Bob Moran sped to a 9.99 bye run from his ’69 Camaro A/SA.
Quarter finals then saw Moran fall to Dean Ribeiro in a battle of camaros; Ribeiro’s dead-on 10.66 to a break-out, red lighting 9.93 (9.99). Coyne’s 11.35 (11.38) from his I/S Camaro would defeat a red lighting 11.10 from George Mirza’s D/SA Duster. Mike Farrell sped to a 9.79 bye run and would square off with Dean Ribeiro in the Semis. Farrel would prevail over Ribeiro 9.77 (9.75) to a losing but dead-on 10.65. Jeff Coyne ran 11.31 on his bye run and faced off against Farrell in the final. Coyne would emerge victorious when Farrell’s -0.011 light ended his day, 11.28 to 9.76.
